A painter, sculptor and furniture designer as well as jeweler, Alishan Halebian started his artistic career in the College of Ceramic Art in Armenia. He continued his studies in design and drawing in California and started his jewelry career as a stone setter. From his studio in Irvine, California he began designing pieces for individual clients and won the prestigious Design Competition Award from the International Pearl Competition in Japan in 1993. His talent was recognized again by the American Gem Trade Association when he received a Spectrum Award in 1994 and a 2000 Spectrum award for Platinum jewelry. In creating his artistic pieces, Alishan Halebian says “ I find my design inspiration in a wide variety of artistic expressions, from African art to contemporary sculpture. My jewelry is an eclectic mix of textures, techniques and cultural references that come together to create a collection of special interest.”
